The website www.babyhearing.org is brought to you by a team of professionals at Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH) in Omaha, Nebraska. This website was originally developed as a resource for families, by a team of professionals and experienced parents with grant support from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (R25 Health Communication Grants awarded to Mary Pat Moeller, Ph.D. from 9/1/2000 to 12/31/2006). The initial and ongoing website team involved contributions from Pediatric Audiologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Teachers of the Deaf, Members of the Cochlear Implant Team, Geneticists, parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing, Researchers, Graphic artists, Marketing specialists, adults who are DHH, and Videographers. This site is regularly updated through the efforts of interdisciplinary team members.
As of 2024, the site is managed by Krystal Werfel, Ph.D.

Special Note about the “raising deaf kids" project
In 2001, another team worked to establish a website for families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing and it was called
www.raisingdeafkids.org. This comprehensive resource was developed by an interdisciplinary team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), also with grant support grant support from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (R25 Health Communication Grant awarded to Annie Steinberg, M.D. from 9/1/2001 to 8/31/2004). Dr. Steinberg
is a pediatrician and child psychiatrist who worked with deaf children and teenagers for more than 20 years. The original website about 'raising deaf kids' it is no longer available. However selected
content from that site has been updated with permission and integrated into
www.babyhearing.org. Content from the ‘raising deaf kids’ project is acknowledged on babyhearing pages where it is incorporated.
