The Genetics of Hearing Loss

Results of NIDCD-supported survey research with primary care physicians (Moeller, White & Shisler, 2006; Moeller, Eiten, Shisler & White, in press) suggested the need for information and training on genetic and syndromic factors related to hearing loss. The content in this section was adapted from a short course presentation by G. Bradley Schaefer, M.D., FAAP, FACMG, Director of the Genetic Medicine program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
